INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you provide directly when creating an account and using the app:

• Account Information: Email address, display name, and password (stored securely with bcrypt hashing). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from your Google account.
• Reading Progress: Bible reading plans you join, daily progress records, chapters read, streak data, and reading statistics.
• Guild Data: Guild memberships, activity logs, and leaderboard contributions.
• Device Information: Push notification subscription details (if you opt in) and basic browser information for offline support.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

• Provide the Service: Track your reading progress, calculate streaks, manage guild memberships, and display your statistics.
• Send Notifications: If you opt in to push notifications, we send daily reading reminders at your preferred time.
• Improve the App: Error logs and usage patterns help us fix bugs and improve the experience.
• Communicate: We may use your email to send important service updates (not marketing).

DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. Authentication sessions use encrypted JWT tokens via NextAuth.js. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth: For optional sign-in via your Google account. Google's privacy policy applies to data shared through their authentication service.
• Vercel: Hosts the application. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
• Neon: Hosts our database. Subject to Neon's privacy policy.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking.

PUSH NOTIFICATIONS & OFFLINE DATA

Push notifications are entirely optional. If you enable them, we store your device's push subscription endpoint to deliver reminders. You can disable notifications at any time from your profile settings.

The app may store reading data locally on your device for offline use via IndexedDB. This data is synced with our servers when you reconnect and can be cleared by clearing your browser data.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Biblical Battle Plans is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

DATA DELETION & ACCOUNT REMOVAL

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon request, we will delete your account, reading progress, guild memberships, and all other personal data from our systems within 30 days.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
